About

This blog follows four writers: Ashley, Andrew, Hillari, and Fallon. They met in graduate school, and at some interval decided that they needed to write more and keep each other focused, as well as sane. Currently, they live at home with their families* and work at jobs (when they can find work) that pay the bills. The title, “The Miserables,” was born out of a conversation on the recently popular film, Les Miserables. Miserable means a pitiable state of unhappiness. Well, they’re not miserable, not really (they’re writers, over-dramatic is their middle name). But, they don’t mind a bit of sympathy as they aim to raise themselves from their present situation, and follow their passion to enter into a new era of their lives- as PAID (and hopefully financially independent) WRITERS! This blog also provides a space to publish their writing as they hone their craft and find their voices. You may see such things as movie reviews, discussions on genre, writing tips/techniques, etc.

*disclaimer* Ashley, Andrew, Hillari, and Fallon love (LOVE!!!) their families and could not be where they are without their love and support. They deeply appreciate their families for allowing them to pursue their dreams, and not least of all for feeding them, so that while they operate on the income of a starving artist, they don’t actually go hungry.
